Peptide solubility is an inherent property. To improve solubility:
- Adjust the pH.
- Use ultrasonic agitation.
- Modify the solution temperature (≤30℃).
- Add solubilizing agents (e.g., DMSO, DMF), dissolve in organic solvent first, then add water or buffer.
- For basic peptides, use 10% acetic acid; for acidic peptides, use 10% NH4HCO3.
All peptides undergo strict QC (MS and HPLC) before shipping. If your experiment fails, review your procedure. We can also offer specialized support.
Peptide activity cannot be guaranteed under experimental conditions, a limitation for all peptide suppliers.
We verify sequences multiple times before synthesis. Any amino acid misincorporation will be detected in MS analysis. We can provide original synthesis records upon request.
Peptides, especially in TFA salt form, can have strong odors. Odor may also result from moisture absorption. It does not affect peptide use.
High hydrophilicity can cause moisture absorption during shipping. This does not affect peptide usability. If necessary, we offer re-lyophilization services, though there may be some loss. Short peptides like dipeptides or tripeptides may also remain liquid after lyophilization.
Peptides have a limited shelf life. Store sealed at -20℃ to -80℃ and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Store peptides dry and lyophilized at -20℃ to -80℃, away from moisture and light. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting peptides as needed.
Achieving 100% purity is nearly impossible. We minimize impurities, typically salts, residual peptides, or moisture. Peptides with 95% purity or higher are usually sufficient.
Peptide synthesis is influenced by various factors, including temperature and humidity. Some sequences are inherently variable in synthesis difficulty.
Generally, peptides of about 10-15 amino acids are suitable. Longer peptides provide better immunogenicity but are more costly.
For immunization purposes, peptide purity between 70-85% is typically sufficient.
- High hydrophobic amino acid content (Leu, Val, Ile, Met, Phe, Trp) hinders solubility.
- Peptides with less than 50% hydrophobic residues and around 20% charged residues (K, R, H, N-terminus, D, E, C-terminus) are generally more soluble.
These residues are prone to oxidation, making synthesis and purification challenging. They require special care in use and storage.
Neighboring or repeated residues like Val, Ile, Tyr, Phe, Trp, Leu, Gln, and Thr can hinder synthesis. Specific combinations like repeated Pro or Ser-Ser also reduce yield and purity.
Our peptides undergo stringent QC. Variations in testing conditions can affect results. Share your QC reports with us for technical review.
